Orthopaedic Associates is the first major corporate sponsor for AVSC demonstrating a commitment to the athletes and community. Orthopaedic Associates contributes in excess of $50,000 annually to a host of local organizations supporting numerous local athletes and sports programs. Physicians and staff contribute hundred of hours of service to the Aspen Foundation for Sports Medicine Education & Research, AVSC, USA Cycling, World Cup Skiing, 24 Hours of Aspen, ESPN X-Games, and conducts medical lectures and seminars in the community and throughout the world. The Aspen Foundation for Sports Medicine, Education and Research (AFSMER) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1996 and dedicated to the promotion, support and sponsorship of education and research in the field of sports medicine. Orthopaedic Associates' participate as faculty for Orthopaedic Grand Rounds and community education presentations. AFSMER conducts ongoing clinical trials as well as participating in the creation of original and outcomes based sports medicine research projects.
